📝 Description

This article explains how to export your transaction history from Coinbase in order to import it into Waltio.
👉 Useful for capital gains calculation and ensuring better data quality.

⚠️ Warnings

  • Opening, modifying, or renaming the CSV file may make it unreadable by Waltio.

  • Coinbase CSV exports may miss internal transfers, which are only visible through the API.

💡 Recommendations

  • Prefer using the Coinbase Pro API if you also have a Coinbase Pro account.

  • Manually add any rewards from quizzes/tutorials as they are not included in Coinbase exports.

  • For "Convert” transactions, Waltio aggregates the two transactions (fiat conversion step) into one.

📂 How to access your data

  1. Log in to your Coinbase account.

  2. Go to the Statements section or use this direct link.

  3. In the Filter Statements box, ensure the same settings as in the example image.

    • ✅ Select CSV format.

    • ⚠️ If CSV is not selected, the file won’t be recognized.

  1. Click on Generate and wait while the file is being prepared.

📤 How to export your data

  1. Once the export is ready, download the CSV file.

  2. Do not open or rename the file.

➕ How to add data to Waltio

  1. Go to the Import a file page on Waltio.

  2. Upload this file.

ℹ️ Additional Information

  1. Convert transactions create two trades via EUR, Waltio aggregates them into one.

  2. For Coinbase Pro accounts, use the API connection.

  3. Quiz/tutorial rewards are not included → Add them manually via a Waltio format file or by creating a new transaction.
