Find and download your Coinbase transaction history

Updated over a year ago

Hi there 👋

You now have the ability to automatically add your Coinbase transactions by logging into your account from the Waltio interface.

This ensures better data quality and thus better value calculations. Also, it is much easier than adding all the files. So we recommend this solution.

However, if you still want to add your files, here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Once you are logged into coinbase.com, click on the tab at the top right of the bell, where your photo appears.

Step 2: Click on Tools.

Step 3: Click on the Reports tab to the right of Addresses.

Step 4: Click on the “Generate Report” button to the right of “Transaction History” and wait for the file to generate.

⚠️ Opening and saving a CSV file can modify its structure, which blocks its automatic reading by our software. Once the file is downloaded, do not open it or rename it so that we can read it correctly!

Thank you.

Step 5: Once your report is ready, upload it and drop it on Waltio.

📝 Here is some additional information about Coinbase files:

1️⃣ “Convert” type transactions generate two transactions by passing through euro. We aggregate them in order to make one transaction appear and pass through the euro.

2️⃣ The instructions are different for a Coinbase Pro account.

If you have a Coinbase Pro account in addition to a Coinbase account, we strongly advise you to set up an API connection. It is common for Coinbase to not record internal transfers in its .CSV files, however these transactions are visible via API.

3️⃣ Earnings related to quiz/questionnaire/tutorial answers are not taken into account by Waltio. We advise you to add them manually by creating a transaction or via a file in Waltio format.
