Getting started - Use Waltio in 5 steps

Welcome to Waltio! Here is the essential information you need to know when getting started with Waltio.

📝 Description

Waltio helps you centralize your cryptocurrency transactions, identify potential corrections, and generate your tax documents. To get a reliable tax report, follow these five steps.

📁 1. Prepare your transaction history

List all the exchanges, wallets, and blockchains you have used since you started trading. Importing your complete transaction history is crucial to correctly calculate your capital gains and losses and guarantee a reliable tax report.

📤 2. Add your crypto accounts

Go to My Accounts, then add your exchanges and wallets.

To add an account, you can:

  • synchronize an account using an API key or a wallet address;

  • import a CSV or Excel file;

Waltio supports over 190 platforms. You can check the full list on this page.

⚠️ Each platform has its own specificities, so we recommend checking our platform connection tutorials to find the right guide for yours.

👉 If one of your platforms is not supported by Waltio, you can use a Waltio template file or add your transactions manually.

📝 3. Review your transactions

Once your accounts are added, open the My Transactions page to make sure your history is complete.

⚠️ 4. Fix warnings

Waltio automatically generates a tax report after importing your data. If corrections are needed, go to the tax report correction page.

The main warnings relate to:

  • negative balances;

  • missing token prices;

  • withdrawals needing categorization.

⚖️ 5. Download your documents and file your return

Once your data is verified, check your tax report, then download your documents via the All Documents button.

You will find your tax certificate, tax declaration appendix, general ledger, and stock inventory sheet. Finally, follow our interactive tax filing tutorial.

💡 Key takeaway: the more complete and verified your transaction history is, the more accurate your tax report will be.
