📝 Description
To calculate your tax obligations accurately, you must report all of your transactions on Waltio. Go to the Accounts page to connect all your exchanges and wallets using the methods below.
⚠️ Each platform has its own specificities, so we recommend checking our platform connection tutorials to find the right procedure for yours.
📂 Via an API Key
You generate keys on the exchange and enter them into Waltio. These keys grant Waltio the necessary permissions to retrieve your transaction history automatically.
💡 Advantages:
Automatic retrieval of past and future transactions
No manual intervention needed after setup
📤 Via a decentralized wallet address
For decentralized (non-custodial) wallets, simply enter your public address. Waltio handles this method similarly to an API to retrieve your transactions directly from the blockchain.

📝 Via a transaction history file
You export your transaction history from the platform (XLSX or CSV format) and upload it to Waltio. This method also works for unsupported platforms, provided you follow the format of the Waltio template file.
⚠️ No automatic transaction retrieval for files. To update your transactions, you will need to add a new file containing your latest transactions, making sure not to create duplicates.

Works for all platforms, even those without an API
Useful for exchanges that have closed or have restrictions
➕ Bonus: Automatic connection
Some platforms (e.g., Coinbase) offer an automatic connection with Waltio, which is a fast and convenient method. If you have the option to connect your platform directly to Waltio:
Click on Continue on... in the account addition window.
You will be redirected to the platform's website; follow the steps to complete the connection with Waltio.

If one of your platforms is not supported by Waltio, you can use a Waltio template file or add your transactions manually.
