Your dashboard is the perfect place to get a complete overview of your investments at a glance. Let’s walk through how to use all of its features to effectively manage your portfolio.
📝 Important
Eligible Plans: Portfolio tracking is only available from the Lite plan upwards.
Portfolio vs Tax Return: The Portfolio page displays a real-time estimation of your assets based on live balances synced via your APIs and imported files. The Tax Return page calculates your capital gains retrospectively across your entire transaction history.
No Impact on Your Tax Report: A discrepancy between your Portfolio and your exchange does not mean your Tax Report is incorrect.
Yield / Staking Product Coverage: Many centralized exchanges (CEXs) do not share passive income data (staking, lending, earn) through their public APIs. Consequently, certain locked or yield-generating tokens won't appear in the dashboard’s real-time view, but they will be fully accounted for in your tax report calculation.

➕ Real-Time Valuation
Portfolio Valuation: Check the total value of your portfolio, updated every 5 minutes. You can display chart trends over the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 12 months!
CoinGecko to the Rescue: Each token is valued using price data provided by CoinGecko, one of the most reliable sources in the market. For duplicate symbols, we retrieve the price of the token with the largest market cap.
📁 Allocation by Token or Platform
From the Token tab, click on any token to see how it is distributed across different platforms or blockchains.
From the Platforms tab, click on your chosen platform to view the various tokens held on that specific platform.
💡 CeFi/DeFi Allocation: Centralized vs Decentralized
Your dashboard allows you to see how your funds are split between these two types of exchanges for optimal management.
CeFi (Centralized Exchanges): Such as Binance, SwissBorg, Coinbase, etc.
DeFi (Decentralized Exchanges): Such as wallets on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Binance Smart Chain, etc.
💡 Risk Analysis
Risk Levels: Moderate, Cautious, or Exposed — everything is analyzed so you know exactly where you stand and can adjust your strategy accordingly.
📝 Understanding Global Situation Metrics
💡 These metrics are calculated based on all operations listed on the Transactions page and reflect the data used to compile your tax report.
Invested Amount: Total fiat amount spent purchasing cryptos, across all currencies, converted into your reference currency.
Total Passive Income: Total amount earned from passive income (staking, mining, airdrops...), converted into your reference currency.
Withdrawn Amount: Total fiat value cashed out after crypto sales or payments, converted into your reference currency.
Overall Performance: Total net result based on your current portfolio value, invested amounts, and withdrawn amounts.
Fees Paid: Total exchange fees paid across all platforms since your very first transaction.
Investor Since: The date of your earliest transaction detected in the system.
📁 How to Flag a Scam Token?
You can manually identify a token as a scam. Once flagged, it will be valued at 0 on your dashboard and excluded from your tax report.
Click on the three dots icon to the right of the token.
Click Add to scams.
📁 How to Report an Incorrectly Valued Token?
Don't skew your transaction history: If a token is mispriced at a given time, you can add it to your "flagged tokens" list without marking it as a scam, ensuring it stays included in your tax calculations.
Click on the three dots icon to the right of the token.
Click Report price.
How to View Your Flagged Tokens List
Click on the three dots icon next to the Add an account button.
View your flagged tokens list.
⚠️ Assets and Transactions Not Displayed on the Dashboard
Below is the list of items that cannot appear in your real-time portfolio tracker. Rest assured: they are properly taken into account when calculating your tax report.
Manual Transactions & Excel/CSV Files: Data imported via files or added manually on Waltio is used for tax computations, but isn't directly reflected in the real-time API view of the dashboard.
Yield / Staking / Earn Assets on CEXs: Most exchange APIs do not transmit Staking or Yield balances. Therefore, these products do not appear in the real-time dashboard balance.
💡 Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't the balance on my dashboard match the one on my exchange?
Check your yield products: If you have locked funds in Staking, Earn, Lending, or Flexible Yield on CEXs (Bitpanda, Binance, etc.), the exchange API generally does not sync these balances to the dashboard.
Check your file imports: If you use CSV/Excel imports, make sure they are fully up to date. This is not an automated API connection: if your files aren't re-imported with your latest trades, the dashboard won't reflect them.
Check manual transactions: Manually added entries do not show up in the instant live overview.
Verify API permissions: If your API key lacks the recommended permissions outlined in our tutorials, it may fail to pull live data. Step-by-step guides are available in our Help Center to assist you with API connections.
Is my tax report incorrect if the dashboard shows a discrepancy?
No, absolutely not. The dashboard provides a simplified view for informational purposes only. Official tax calculations are processed independently on the Tax Return page by consolidating all imported transactions. A difference on your dashboard in no way affects the accuracy of your official tax report.
Why does my token show the wrong price?
We retrieve token pricing via CoinGecko. When two tokens share the same symbol, we retrieve the token with the highest market cap, as it is statistically most likely to be used by our community. Consequently, your token may be substituted with the higher market cap variant.
Report the token price: This will hide it from your active portfolio overview.
Ensure your token is listed on CoinGecko and contact our Care Team via chat: Our support team will assess whether we can manually swap the fetched token for yours.
