📝 Description
Bridges are tools that allow digital assets to be transferred between different blockchains (for example, from the Ethereum blockchain to the Polygon or Solana blockchain).
Waltio is able to automatically analyze and categorize a large portion of bridge transactions. However, for some blockchains like Polygon, the deposit of funds is done through smart contracts that are not always readable by the scanning tool. In this case, part of the transaction may not be retrieved automatically.
[!TIP] In this case, the deposit operation is missing. The sending transaction will then be considered a classic "Withdrawal", which may distort your stock calculations.
🛠️ How to add missing transactions?
If you find that a bridge transaction is missing, you can add it manually by following these steps:
1- Identify the sending address
On the original blockchain (for example, Ethereum), identify the bridge transaction. The destination address will often be a smart contract or a "null" address like 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000.
2- Search for the address on the destination explorer
Go to the destination blockchain explorer (for example, Polygonscan for Polygon) and enter your wallet address.
3- Consult specific tabs
Look in the "Internal Txns" or "ERC-20 Token Txns" tabs. Bridge transactions often appear there.
4- Identify the reception transaction
Look for a transaction with the "IN" label corresponding to the amount and the bridged asset.
5- Add manually on Waltio
Once the transaction is identified, you can add it manually to your Waltio account to ensure a consistent calculation of your stocks.
