Getting started - Resolving warnings

In this article, we present the different types of warnings and explain how you can resolve them.

📝 Description

To help you generate an accurate and compliant tax report, Waltio flags any transaction errors that require your attention. When generating your tax report, warnings on your transactions may appear.

💡 Where to find transactions that need review?

On the Transactions page, the Corrections tab lists the transactions that need your review.

  1. Click on any transaction in the list.

  2. The details window will open with a banner explaining the nature of the warning.

On Waltio, you will come across three types of warnings.

📂 The three types of warnings

1. Negative balance

  • ⚠️ When you withdraw or trade more tokens than our calculations show in your holdings, a negative balance is generated.

  • 💡 The primary reason for this warning is that not all transactions have been added: missing deposits or trades need to be imported.

2. Withdrawal to categorize

  • ⚠️ This warning appears when an outgoing transaction has not been categorized using a label.

  • 💡 Depending on its nature, a withdrawal can trigger a taxable event and therefore potentially impact your taxable capital gains. Make it a habit to label your withdrawals so that calculations run accurately.

3. Missing token price

  • ⚠️ You may see this error if we were unable to retrieve the token price on the date of the transaction.

  • 💡 The main reason is that the token is not tracked on CoinGecko. You will need to manually enter the missing price for that transaction.
