This article explains how to connect your Backpack Exchange account to Waltio via the API.
👉 This allows you to automatically retrieve your transactions and ensure accurate tax reporting.
⚠️ Warnings
Only Spot is supported on Waltio via the Backpack API. Transactions on Futures, Staking, or other products might not be retrieved.
Ensure your API key has Read-only permissions. Waltio does not need trading or withdrawal permissions.
If you delete your API keys on Backpack Exchange, automatic synchronization will stop.
💡 Recommendations
Keep your secret key in a safe place during creation, as it will only be displayed once.
For optimal synchronization, avoid restricting IP addresses, as Waltio uses multiple servers.
📂 How to access your data
Log in to your Backpack Exchange account.
Go to your Portfolio and click on the Settings tab.
Select the API Keys tab.
Click on the New API Key button.
Give your key a name (e.g., "Waltio").
Important: Select the Read Only option to restrict permissions.
Click Create and enter your 2FA code to validate.
Copy and safe-keep the API Key and API Secret Key.
📤 How to export your data
The API automatically retrieves your Spot data. If you need it for unsupported or very old transactions, you can import a file in Waltio format.

Go to the Add an account page on Waltio.
Search for "Backpack Exchange" and select the API option.
Enter your API key and secret key.
