Should I add my Testnet transactions?

Include Testnet transactions

Updated over a week ago

What is a Testnet?

A Testnet is a kind of "testing ground" for a blockchain. Testnet tokens are completely separate from real tokens and have no real value. This network allows developers to test ideas and improvements without risking damaging the main system.

Why add Testnet transactions ?

You should include Testnet transactions in the calculation, as it is possible to realise unrealised capital gains (on Ethereum, for example). You should also bear in mind that if Testnet gains are converted into a foreign currency, this will be considered as a taxable disposal.

In the case of a swap between Ethereum and Goerli ETH, if your Goerli ETH has been used for commission. The Ethereum exit should be labelled Transfer between accounts.
