Updated over a week ago

Bitfinex

๐Ÿ“ Description

This article explains how to connect your Bitfinex account to Waltio using the API.
๐Ÿ‘‰ It allows you to automatically import your transactions and keep your account synchronized without manual file uploads.

โš ๏ธ Warnings

  • If you delete your keys, synchronization will stop and you will need to create new ones.

  • If you modify your keys, the API will be disabled until corrected.

  • Keys deletion leads to the loss of all modifications (labels, prices, etc.) made on retrieved transactions.

  • If you add files containing trades already imported by API, they will be duplicated.

๐Ÿ’ก Recommendations

  • Keep your API in read-only mode (default Bitfinex configuration).

  • Name your API key clearly (e.g., WaltioKey).

  • If you correct your keys later, contact Waltio support to reactivate synchronization (weekly sync).

๐Ÿ“‚ How to access your data

  1. Log in to your Bitfinex account.

  2. Go to the API section.

  3. Configure permissions for your API key (leave the default read-only settings).
    โ€‹

  4. Name your API key and click Generate API key.

๐Ÿ“ค How to export your data

  • When connecting, the API will ask you to choose between two options:

    1. Recovery of all data since the creation of your Bitfinex account.

    2. Recovery of all data since the date of your last transaction already imported into Waltio.

โž• How to add your data to Waltio

  1. Go to the Connect my API page on Waltio.

  2. Enter your Bitfinex API key and secret.
