Being Anonymous

Be anonymous to Waltio and its partners

Updated today

Hi there ๐Ÿ‘‹

Our job is to simplify your tax management. In no case is your private life any of our business. Although it is complex to be completely anonymous on the web, it is possible to use Waltio while respecting your privacy, whether with Waltio or our partners (authentication, payment, and data hosting services).

Since our tax activity is not regulated, we have no KYC process. We are not a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP), so MiCA regulations do not apply to our business. In short, Waltio only has your email address and the history of your transactions, withdrawals, and deposits.

Although our customers who wish to remain anonymous generally know how to do so, here are some best practices to avoid being identified:

  • Register with a temporary and anonymous email address, ProtonMail (webmail with automatic encryption ensuring a high level of confidentiality), or Apple's "Hide My Email" feature. โš ๏ธ Note: this will prevent you from receiving our promotional offers, tax filing assistance, and newsletter.

  • Remove your email address from the files (transaction histories) you upload to Waltio. This way, neither Waltio nor the web hosting provider (AWS) can identify you.

  • Pay for our services in Bitcoin. Of course, Bitcoin is pseudonymous and not anonymous, but paying in Bitcoin offers additional confidentiality. Financial institutions have no way to identify you.

The Waltio Team.
