π Description
Welcome to Waltio! Here are the key pieces of information to know when you start using the platform to report your crypto assets.
π‘ Essential Tips
Prioritize API connections between Waltio and your exchange platforms whenever possible; otherwise, use history files.
If a platform is not supported, add your transactions manually.
Transactions in euros only (without crypto assets) do not need to be imported.
Report generation time varies depending on the type and volume of your operations.
π Importance of Historical Data
To calculate your annual capital gains and losses, Waltio must individually analyze each taxable transaction. Access to the complete history of your purchases is therefore essential to determine the acquisition cost of each asset.
Example: If you bought 1 BTC in 2017 at β¬3,000 and sold it in 2020 at β¬15,000, Waltio needs access to the original 2017 purchase transaction to correctly calculate your capital gain.
π Dates and Time Zone
When entering your transaction dates, select a date equal to or after December 31 of the relevant fiscal year. Waltio uses GMT+1 as its official time zone.
β οΈ Missing History
Importing all your accounts (wallets and exchanges) completely is mandatory. A single missing transaction can completely change the calculated taxable amount. Do not leave any account out.
π° Crypto Price Retrieval
Waltio uses CoinGecko to automatically retrieve crypto-euro prices at the date of each transaction. You do not need to manually enter historical prices.
