Name services

Connect an address to Waltio using the domain name associated with that address

Updated this week

๐Ÿ“ Description

A name service is a unique nickname associated with a user's public address, acting like a domain name to simplify blockchain interactions. Waltio allows you to add an account using its name service instead of entering the full address.

๐Ÿ“‚ Adding an account via a name service

A name service is a unique nickname associated with a public address. Rather than entering your full address in Waltio, you can use your name service directly.

Example: you have an Ethereum address associated with the name service customerofwaltio.eth โ€” you can now add it on the My accounts page by entering customerofwaltio.eth instead of your full address.

1. Go to My accounts

Log in to your account, then navigate to the My accounts page.

2. Add an account

Click on "Add Account".

3. Select the blockchain

Select the relevant blockchain (example: Ethereum).

4. Enter the name service

Fill in your name service and then click on "Connect me". The linked address will be displayed automatically.

If the address is linked to multiple blockchains, you can add them all at once. We talk more about this in this article.
