When you provide liquidity on a decentralized protocol (Uniswap, 1inch, Curve, Balancer), your cryptos leave your wallet and a token is sent to you in return. This token is an LP token (liquidity providing token).
Examples: LP ETH-1inch, FARM 1 LP ETH-1inch, LP ETH-ETHUNIV2.
👉 An LP token is a deposit receipt: it proves your position in the pool. Its value is not an independent market price, but the sum of the assets you deposited into the pool.
⚠️ Why the price is not retrieved
LP tokens are almost never listed on price aggregators like CoinGecko. This is normal: their value depends on the contents of the pool at a given moment, not on a quoted price. So you need to value them yourself.
💡 How to value an LP token
Choose the method based on your situation.
Option 1 - Enter the value manually, recommended if you know it. The value of the LP token equals the sum of the assets in the pool at the time of receipt. Example: you deposit 1 ETH and 2,000 USDC, so the value of the LP token is the sum of the two on that date.
Option 2 - Value it at $0.00001 or add it to the list of tokens with no value. Prefer this when:
the position is already closed, the withdrawal is done and your cryptos are back in the wallet, so the LP was only a temporary receipt;
the amount is negligible;
you do not know and cannot reconstruct the deposited value.
👉 Reminder: a value of zero is not accepted. Use $0.00001 at minimum, with a decimal point.
➕ Labelling
Deposit into a pool, when your cryptos leave: use the Add liquidity label.
Withdrawal from the pool, when your cryptos come back: use the Remove liquidity label.
Both labels must be set so that Waltio correctly links your deposit and your withdrawal, and does not interpret these movements as sales or purchases.
💡 Concrete examples
LP ETH-USDC (Uniswap v2), closed position: the withdrawal is already done and your assets are back in the wallet, value it at $0.00001.
LP ETH-USDC, open and known position: you deposited 1 ETH and 2,000 USDC, enter the sum of the two on the date of receipt.
LP token from a known protocol without a price: this is not a SCAM, value it and do not delete it.
