How to manage the migration of ERDs to eGLD and any other migration

Updated today

๐Ÿ“ Description

Here are some examples of tokens that have changed their names:

  • FET/OCEAN/AGIX to ASI

  • MATIC to POL

Example with the ERD token becoming eGLD (MultiversX) โ€” Let's take the case of Elrond and its ERD token, which became eGLD in September 2020.

1 eGLD = 1000 ERD

When eGLD began to be traded on exchanges, its price automatically corresponded to 1000x the price of ERD. In USD or Euro terms, the value of eGLD is therefore exactly the same as that of ERD.

In Waltio, the database records two tokens and you need to add a swap transaction between ERD and eGLD.

For some platforms such as crypto.com, you don't have to do anything, as the swap is visible. However, platforms such as Binance, Just Mining and Elrond Bridges do not give you the option of seeing these swap transactions. It is therefore necessary to create them yourself in order to overcome this problem.

To do this, you need to create an exchange transaction equivalent to the sum of your ERDs in your account on the date of the swap to eGLD.

Example: You have 1000 ERD equivalent to $25. These 1000 ERD will become 1 eGLD which will also be worth $25. In Waltio, this gives the result below.

โš ๏ธ Avertissements / Warnings

  • If the LEND, ERD (etc.) withdrawal is already present, you will simply need to create an AAVE or eGLD deposit rather than an exchange.

๐Ÿ“‚ Create the transaction in Waltio

1. Click on "Add transactions" then "Exchange"

Token name change

2. Fill in the details of your transaction then click on "Add 1 transaction"

๐Ÿ’ก Additional Information

  • This is also the case for LEND to AAVE, COCOS to COCOS, BQX to VGX, CDT to SSV, ASD to BTMX, LUNA to LUNC...
