Find and download your Ledger transaction history

Updated over a year ago

Hi there 👋

To add your transactions from your Ledger, there are three methods.

Summary:

1. Synchronization via Ledger Live 🔗

Waltio is the first French tax assistant to be integrated with Ledger Live 🎉

By logging into your Waltio account via Ledger Live, your Ledger addresses will be automatically added to your Waltio account. So you don't need to do anything, everything is automatic 😉

Step 1: Open the Ledger Live app, then click on “discover” :

Step 2: Select “Waltio” and log in:

Step 3: Click “Add wallet” for each address you want to add to your Waltio account.

💡 As a reminder: In order to have a fair gain or loss calculation, you should add all your transactions (and therefore all your accounts) from the first.

🎉 Congratulations, you just added your Ledger addresses to your Waltio account in two minutes 🎉

2. Adding public addresses 🔌

If you don't want to use the Waltio X Ledger Live integration, no problem: You can add your addresses manually.

If the blockchain is supported by Waltio, then there is an article on it in our FAQ to help you add the address 👇

💡 If you don't want to add them one by one, you also have the option to use the master public keys (xpub) by following this tutorial.

3. Adding the transaction history file 📑

First, note that of the three methods, adding files is the least convenient.

👉 We strongly recommend connecting addresses to add your Ledger transactions to Waltio. This is much easier. Adding the addresses takes at most 5 minutes, when uploading the files can take more than an hour!

Moreover, adding addresses guarantees better data quality and therefore better value calculations.

However, if you still want to retrieve your transaction history from your Ledger, here's how to proceed:

Step 1 : Connect to your Ledger interface via Ledger Live (the desktop application). This is not possible from a mobile phone.

Step 2 : Click on “Settings” then on “Accounts”, “” and “Export operation history” :

Trouver et télécharger son historique de transactions Ledger

Select the accounts for which you wish to obtain the transaction history:

Trouver et télécharger son historique de transactions Ledger

Click “Save” to have your history downloaded automatically.

Step 3 : All you have to do is upload your file to Waltio.

⚠️ Opening and saving a CSV file can sometimes modify its structure, thus blocking automatic lecture by our program. Once files from Ledger files are downloaded, please, do not open them or modify their names so that we can read it correctly !

Thank you.

🪧 Here are some more details about Ledger in Waltio

1️⃣ The Ledger files contain the times in UTC (Greenwich) mode, but we display the times in Waltio in French time, which is UTC+2.

2️⃣ Ledger sometimes delays deposits or withdrawals by a few minutes, which in this case will create a warning. In the case of a deposit on Ledger from Binance, for example, the deposit must of course be after the withdrawal on Binance. If this is not the case, it is then necessary to shift a few minutes to reverse the transactions.

3️⃣ If you have imported transactions from a public key (Ethereum, Bitcoin, etc.) on Waltio and a file from Ledger Live, there is a good chance that certain operations are present in both transaction histories! This will therefore create duplicates (easily identifiable by looking at your stock card) that you will have to manually delete so that your capital gains calculation is correct.

4️⃣ If you have problems on Ledger, it's probably due to duplicates between your APIs and your Ledger file. We invite you to only download a ledger file with accounts not returned by API.
