Being anonymous

Be anonymous to Waltio and its partners

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Hi there 👋

Our job is to simplify your tax management. In any case, your private life is none of our business. Although it is complex to be completely anonymous on the web, it is possible to use Waltio while respecting your privacy, whether with Waltio or our partners (authentication, payment, and data hosting services).

As our tax activity is not regulated, we do not have a KYC process (Know Your Customer). We are not a digital asset service provider (DASP), so the MiCA law does not apply to our business. In short, Waltio only has your email address and your transaction, withdrawal, and deposit history.

Even though our clients who want to remain anonymous often know how to do so, here are some good practices to avoid being identified:

  • Register with a temporary and anonymous email address or ProtonMail (webmail with automatic encryption guaranteeing a high level of confidentiality) or "Hide My Email" feature in Apple's authentication service.

  • Delete the email address on the files (transaction histories) that you upload to Waltio. This way neither Waltio nor the web host (AWS) can identify you.

  • Pay for our services in Bitcoin. While Bitcoin is pseudonymous and not anonymous, paying in Bitcoin offers additional privacy. Financial institutions have limited way to identify you.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us via the chat just at the bottom right of your screen!
